Association of Machine Embroidery

California Association of Machine Embroidery
General Information

C.A.M.E. (California Association of Machine Embroidery) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to machine embroidery and embellishment. This includes free motion as well as computerized machine embroidery and fiber/fabric manipulation. Most of our members live in California, but we do have a number of out-of-state members. In California, we have area groups which meet at various times depending on the group. Some of these groups meet in local sewing machine stores or in some cases, the homes of members. The local group decides how they wish to run their meetings. Generally, there is a show and tell session along with a mini lesson or demo by a member of the group. This lesson can be hands on. Any member can start a group in their area, if there isn't one nearby or if the group wishes to meet at a different time.

C.A.M.E.'s primary event is our annual seminar, which is held in February or March each year at different locations in California. The Seminar for 2014 was held in Bakersfield, Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center on January 31 – February 2, 2014. Information about the next seminar can be found under “Seminars”.

The annual membership for C.A.M.E. is $35, which is renewed by December 31 for the following year. This fee provides a quarterly newsletter, annual roster of members, and a copy of the brochure describing the classes and special events for the upcoming seminar. The brochure is generally mailed out in October.
